James Mooney currently leads the International effort for GetJar Networks, the Worlds Largest Independent App Store. Previous to GetJar James has spent more than ten years in Digital Advertising working for companies such as Microsoft, Viacom and Emap managing and leading sales teams.
With 9 years of experience working in digital media start-up companies and monetizing online content, Paul Bowen is one of the leading advocates of virtual currency in the UK. Formerly at the UK office of Adknowledge (owner of Super Rewards), he is now Vice President of Europe for Tapjoy, Inc. Tapjoy is the leader in discovery, engagement and monetization services for mobile applications. The company’s turnkey in-app advertising platform helps developers acquire cost-effective, high-value new users, drive engagement within their applications, and create incremental income by providing an ad-funded virtual currency based payment method.
Rob is a 12 year veteran of Microsoft, joining the company at the end of the web bubble in 2000 after two fun startups. Initially focused on scalable application design in Windows, Rob moved on to become an Architect focused on helping customers and partners modernize and re-architect their applications on the latest technologies. He is passionate about the opportunity for companies to build amazing experiences on the Microsoft platform and was asked to lead the technology work with the top 200 ISVs worldwide for Microsoft. Doing deal negotiation and looking after execution of those deals occupied the next while, and then he was able to lead the initial Microsoft team focused on business development and technical efforts with key Cloud pure companies. Recently, Rob has returned to Redmond from Paris where he led the business operations for Microsoft International—all countries except US and Canada. This provided him with good perspective and customer feedback to his current role where he is focused on the Microsoft strategy for delivering the best cloud platform in the world. He attended the United States Military Academy, and is a graduate of the Microsoft MBA program from the Kelly School of Business.
Eyal is a seasoned product and business leader. Following his MBA, Eyal joined Yahoo Search and later Microsoft Bing, leading product efforts for high-profile search features such as Yahoo Sports Search and Bing Facebook Likes. Eyal joined TinyCo, a leading Andreessen Horowitz-funded mobile game developer in 2010, to lead its user acquisition and growth strategy. TinyCo has driven millions of downloads to hit games such as Tiny Zoo and Tiny Village on iOS and Android, topping the respective Top Free and Top Grossing charts worldwide.
Yannick joined Nokia in June 2004 in Johannesburg, South Africa to manage handset distribution within the sub-Saharan African continent. During his careers at Nokia and previously at Gemplus – a smart card manufacturer, Yannick has been working in more than 11 EMEA countries and was until December 2011 in charge of Nokia Ecosystem and Developer relation in Eurasia, based in Moscow – Russia. With more than 15 years’ experience in the telecom & technology sector within EMEA region, Yannick’s role sees him direct an European team charged with engaging developers to create great, locally relevant apps & to merchandize Nokia and Marketplace apps store to generate a positive ROI for the developer, and support Nokia’s mission to provide consumers with differentiated mobile products. Prior to his developer’s relationship role, Yannick was in charge of Nokia Business to consumer channels in Eurasia and rolled out and managed a network of more than 150 Nokia physical Branded Retails stores, e-commerce shop and Nokia corners in multi branded stores in Russia and Turkey.
Chiaren Cushing is Director, Business Development for Qualcomm’s Ecosystem group. As part of the Ecosystem team, Cushing is responsible for growing and sustaining the robust community of developers and publishers working with Qualcomm products and services. Cushing has over 10 years of international experience in the telecommunications and technology industries. She came to her current role from Roundbox Inc., a leading mobile broadcast technology company, where she served as the head of global business development, managing Roundbox’s strategic relationships in the handset, computer, and chipset verticals. Previously, Cushing supported Qualcomm’s global business development team as a regional manager overseeing activity in India, Greater China and Southeast Asia. Cushing holds an MBA from San Diego State University’s College of Business Administration.
Daniel Appelquist is a mobile and web industry veteran who has been bringing innovative and disruptive services to market for two decades. He was an early Internet and Web pioneer, has been a dot-com CTO and later a dot-com refugee. While at Vodafone, he helped to launch Vodafone Live! In the UK and has been instrumental in the development of industry standardsinitiatives and joint ventures such as dotMobi, the W3C Mobile Web Initiative, and device APIs such as the W3C Geolocation browser API. He has been a community instigator, founding MobileMonday London as well as the Mobile 2.0 conference series in San Francisco and the Over the Air hack days in the UK. In his current role as Head of Product Management for BlueVia, Telefónica Digital's developer and network APIs platform, he is working to once again redefine the boundary between Web and Mobile.
Stefano Diemmi has worked for the past 11 years in the digital mobile connected environment, focused on setting up services and activities both for B2C and B2B business model in multiple European and Asia Pacific markets, creating value and gaining large expertise by understanding how to best acquire, engage and interact with customer via mobile - both on featured handsets and smartphones services. Stefano started his career into digital and mobile services in the early days, when he joined Buongiorno in August 2000, supporting the growth of the activities in Italy and Europe for technology and digital marketing services – and then moved to responsibilities to Asia Pacific markets, leading the set up of activities for Buongiorno in India, Russia, Philippines, Vietnam and China between 2004 and 2009. Bernard Gidon joined W3C in 2011 to lead business development in Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA). He is based in Sophia Antipolis, France. In the last 20 years, he has developed EMEA organizations and activities for hardware, software and telecoms companies (Apricot, Retix, Vertel, AdvenNet, Plantronics) with channel and direct accounts activities.
Gilad is Horizons’ Ventures CTO, and has over 20 years of international experience in the technology, telecommunication and Internet worlds. Having joined the Hutchison Group in 2000 and taken on several senior roles for Orange Israel, he moved to Hutchison's Global Technology Group in London in 2006 as the Group Head of Innovation and Research. His role involved keeping up to date with the latest market and technological trends in order to identify key innovations and asses them on behalf of HWL 3G, which the operating companies (UK, Ireland, Austria, Australia, Denmark, Sweden, Hong Kong, Italy, Indonesia) also known as '3' may launch. Mr. Novik was involved in significant projects such as the introduction of Hutchison’s open mobile internet proposition X-Series and development of the Skype mobile phone. Boaz Bryger manages Qualcomm Israel's technological cooperation activities with the Israeli industry – startups, technology vendors, cellular carriers, developers' community, industry forums, etc. As such, Boaz established Qualcomm Israel's Open Innovation lab in Qualcomm offices in Haifa, where select Israeli companies get access to Qualcomm R&D teams and technologies, which help the companies to integrate and launch their products on Qualcomm's platforms, such as Snapdragon. Along his 16 years at Qualcomm, Boaz has been a designer and later on manager of R&D projects. His team today develops Qualcomm's MDPs – Mobile Development Platform – smartphone and tablet development platform devices that are used by Qualcomm's partners and developer communities worldwide.Boaz is member of Qualcomm Israel management team. He holds B.Sc in EE from the Technion and executive MBA from Kellogg-Recanati.
Oded Zehavi is regional director of PayPal Israel and Africa with overall responsibility for PayPal's business growth in the region. In this role, he will lead the rollout of new products, services and partnerships to increase adoption and usage of PayPal among consumers and businesses. Prior to PayPal, Zehavi worked for Leumi Card, a leading credit card issuer and acquirer in Israel. At Leumi Card, he singlehandedly established the international business development division, where he served as vice president and led teams responsible for international strategy, partnerships, customer service and operations.
Zehavi has years of business and technology experience and a deep understanding for the e-commerce and m-commerce industries. He has quickly become a well-know figure within Israel's technology sector, speaking regularly at industry events and serving as an advisor for several startups. Zehavi received a bachelor's degree in computer science from Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Ronen Soffer has been a member of the Telmap leadership team since 2001, taking a key part in defining and executing the company's vision, business strategy and roadmap – up to and beyond its recent acquisition by Intel. His past roles include starting the Professional Services group, heading Telmap's entry to the Americas, and responsibility over product management and product marketing. Yosi Taguri been a developer since the age of 11 when computers had 8 bits and less than 64K of memory. He has a hobby of making people look a bit silly using apps and extremely enjoys are of talking to people. On serious side he has a vast experience in bulding large scale solutions on different platforms and working with early stage companies to realise waht can be done with cutting edge technologies. in the past 2 years he made the ios and andriod platforms his new mistress.
Ori Lavie, VP, Mobile Strategy is responsible for leading Conduit's Mobile strategy including business and commercial aspects as well as product definition, positioning and monetization. Before joining Conduit Ori was chief operating officer (COO) for trendIT Ltd. an innovative technology startup in the mobile location and business intelligence space. In this role, Ori was responsible for both the operations side of the company as well as all commercial aspects including sales, business development and channel development. Prior to trendIT, Ori was Vice President of Business Development for IMA (Israel Mobile Association). In this role, Ori is responsible for leading IMA's business development strategy worldwide within its customers, partners and portfolio companies. For over 13 years, Ori has had a distinguished career providing management and technological expertise to several industry-leading companies in the internet and communication market, and gained deep knowledge on incubating startups and fostering technological innovation.
Ori is now based in Israel and holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Interdisciplinary Center, Herzliya. He attends and speaks regularly at industry conferences.
